Park Center Senior High School's 2023 prom information

Park Center Senior High School's 2023 prom information

Greetings junior and senior families!

It is with great excitement that I am able to share our plans for prom this year. Prom will be held at the Metropolitan Ballroom in Golden Valley, MN on Saturday, May 20, from 7:30-10:30 p.m. We hope your student will have the opportunity to participate in this night full of memories!

Continuing this year - students will be able to purchase their prom tickets via SmartSchoolk12. This is the same website that is used to register students for activities. Once students have purchased their tickets online, they will bring the receipt to the ticket table in the cafeteria during all three lunches to get their ticket for the dance. While the hope is that all students will use SmartSchool, we do understand that is not always possible. For those looking to pay with cash, students will be set up in the cafeteria to sell prom tickets during all three lunches. Only cash will be accepted; we can longer accept checks. Tickets will be $45.00 per person. Students who are on the fine list will not be able to purchase a ticket until their fine has been taken care of.

Students who wish to bring a guest from another building may do so but will need to fill out the PROM GUEST form and return to Mrs. Kallevig by Monday, May 15th. 10th grade students may attend the dance only if they are asked by an upperclassman. No one over the age of 20 will be admitted to the dance. The dance is not open to 9th grade students. Students will need their ticket and student/picture ID and must arrive no later than 9:00 p.m. to be admitted to the dance.

Tickets will be on sale beginning Tuesday, April 25 online and during all three lunches. The ticket table will be set up in the cafeteria near the art hallway. This year the Sophomore Class Cabinet will host the Grand March beginning at 6:30 p.m. The Grand March is free for all students to participate and free for parents to attend as well. Students who have signed up for the Grand March should arrive at the Metropolitan no later than 6:15 p.m. to begin getting in line. We ask that those who come to view/take pictures arrive at 6:30 p.m. for the start of the Grand March and leave promptly at the conclusion so the students can begin the dance portion of the evening.

Park Center’s prom is an experience that creates lifetime memories for our students. Because we want this night to be successful and special for everyone attending, Park Center has developed a set of positive expectations for prom behavior. We know how special your child is, so we are asking for your help in encouraging him or her to make responsible decisions about the evening, including pre and post prom activities. Because the safety of ALL our students is our top priority, if there is any suspicion of drug or alcohol use, there will be administrators and police officers on-hand to deal with the situation and administer any tests that may need to be given. Prom is a school function; therefore, all school rules apply. Please refer to the enclosed Park Center Prom 2023 Rules attachment.

Park Center’s Junior Class Cabinet invites your student to enjoy the Metropolitan Ballroom, dance to music, and enjoy snacks and gourmet desserts catered by D’Amico Catering. Please remind your child to eat dinner prior to arriving at prom.

Sincerely,

Mrs. Kate Kallevig, junior class advisor

Mrs. Heather Miller-Cink, Principal
