Kidstop and Four Star Express celebrate 25th Annual Lights On Afterschool

Community Education’s Kidstop and Four Star Express students, staff and families gathered on Oct. 23 and 24 to celebrate the 25th Annual Lights On Afterschool, a nationally recognized annual event that showcases the many ways after school programs support students and families.

To prepare for the celebration, staff at each Kidstop site planned special activities for students and families to enjoy together. Event highlights and choice-based activities included decorating light switch covers and lightbulbs, friendship bracelets, glow-in-the dark science and art projects, an art gallery on display and a variety of snacks to share such as popcorn, caramel apples and popsicles donated by Jonny Pops. The celebration also included appearances from school mascots, adding excitement to the celebration. 

In Osseo Area Schools, school age care programs are dedicated to providing an enriching choice-based education in a safe and welcoming environment where children are inspired, personal growth is nurtured and families are supported. Celebrating Lights On Afterschool is one way Community Education programs create opportunities that positively impact our community.
