High schools announce Triple A winners
Six district senior high school students have been honored for their dedication to academics, athletics and the arts with the Triple A Award for 2025. The winners include two students from each of the district’s three comprehensive senior high schools, including:
- Juunah Kang and Jacob Wrbanek from Maple Grove Senior High
- Brenden Kranz and Emily Wong from Osseo Senior High
- Ben Marshall and Abigail Safack from Park Center Senior High School
The Triple A Awards are sponsored by the Minnesota State High School League and are open to students with a B or better grade point average and who participate in league-sponsored athletics and fine arts activities. Here is some information about each winner:
- MGSH’s Juunah Kang has participated in soccer, alpine ski, Health Occupations Students of America, National Honor Society, Link Crew, Crimson Cabinet, musical and band. She volunteers at North Memorial Health Medical Center and is trained and certified as an Emergency Medical Responder in Minnesota.
- MGSH’s Jacob Wrbanek has participated in football, basketball, golf, track, wrestling, Link Crew, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and orchestra. Jacob volunteers with the youth football program and at Maple Grove Days.
- OSH’s Brenden Kranz has participated in ceramic arts, hockey and baseball.
- OSH’s Emily Wong has participated in ceramics arts, volleyball and golf.
- PCSH’s Ben Marshall has participated in tennis, robotics and orchestra, including as an all-conference cellist his senior year. He has also manages the girls tennis team and participates in visual arts endeavors such as photography.
- PCSH’s Abigail Safack has participated in soccer, basketball and track and field, and she has received several awards for academic honors and her participation in visual arts endeavors such as painting, drawing and jewelry-making. She received Northwest Suburban Conference All-Conference Honorable Mention awards during three years of high school and will continue playing soccer at the collegiate level this fall.
